From here, daily commuters from Sharjah and northern Dubai park, ride 30 min to BurJuman or Burj Khalifa, then take 30 min back. The station also connects to an intercity bus terminal with frequent services to Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.

Free commuter parking — how it works

Etisalat Metro has Dubai's largest free park-and-ride facility — about 800 covered + uncovered spaces. The system:

  1. Drive into the parking entrance off Al Qusais Road.
  2. Tap your Nol card at the boom barrier to enter.
  3. Park anywhere available (covered spaces are first-come).
  4. Walk to the metro station entrance (~3 min).
  5. On return: tap Nol again at the exit barrier. Free as long as you've used the metro on the same Nol card.

Catch: if you don't tap into the metro between entering and exiting the car park, you're charged AED 25 for parking. So this only works for actual metro commuters.

The other free park-and-ride station is Centrepoint on the Red Line (eastern terminus). Same system.

Intercity buses — connecting to other Emirates

The Etisalat bus terminal (next to the metro, served by Exit 1) runs frequent intercity services. These are RTA-operated, AED 25-50 per trip:

  • E306 to Sharjah City Centre — every 30 min, AED 25.
  • E311 to Ajman Bus Station — every 60 min, AED 30.
  • E700 to Fujairah Bus Station — 5 daily, ~3-hour ride, AED 50.
