Where IDPs are accepted
The UAE-issued IDP follows the 1949 Geneva Convention and is accepted in countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, India, Singapore, Japan, Korea, etc. It is not accepted in some countries that only honour the 1968 Vienna Convention IDP — check with your destination's consulate before travel.
An IDP is not a replacement for your home license; you must carry both.
